THE METHOD
How the platform works
No magic. A chain of precise astronomical tools combined with a conversational AI that reads your chart before speaking. Here, without detour, is how it works.
CALCULATION
A precise cartography
From your birth date, time and place, Llmastro calculates planetary positions to the arcsecond using Swiss Ephemeris and NASA JPL tables. The same precision as observatories.
Western astrology · Documented sources.
OBSERVATION
An AI that reads before speaking
Kairos reads your full chart and cross-references it with the day's transits before saying anything. No recycled generic horoscope: every reading is calculated for you.
Personalized reading every time.
TRANSPARENCY
Clear method, owned limits
We explain our astrological choices, our sources, what the AI does and what it doesn't. No oracular pretense, no gratuitous jargon — you decide what you keep.
Documented sources · Public bibliography.
1. Calculations
Calculations worthy of an observatory
At Llmastro, nothing is invented: every planetary position is calculated. We use Swiss Ephemeris, the reference used by professional astrologers, fed by NASA data — the same data the observatories rely on. Accuracy reaches the arcsecond, across several millennia. Your chart therefore rests on real astronomy, never on approximations.
We also convert your birth time taking time zones, daylight saving changes and their historical quirks into account — automatically, so your ascendant falls exactly where it should.
The bodies and conventions used in your chart:
- The celestial bodies — from the Sun to Pluto, plus the lunar Nodes, Lilith (the Black Moon), Chiron and the asteroids Ceres, Pallas, Juno and Vesta. Enough to draw a rich portrait, without overloading the reading.
- The tropical zodiac — the Western convention, aligned with the seasons.
- The houses — Placidus by default, with Koch and Whole Sign available if you prefer.
- The key points — ascendant, midheaven and Vertex are calculated; the rest follows by symmetry.
2. Your chart
What your chart reveals
Your technical sheet gathers everything: your twelve houses, your ascendant and your midheaven, the position of every body, the aspects they form, the retrogradations, the phase of the Moon at your birth, the seven hermetic lots (Fortune, Spirit, Eros…) and even your life path. Everything is displayed: you can always check for yourself.
Aspects are the angles the planets form with each other. Each one has a “margin” (the orb) within which it is considered active: the wider it is, the more the aspect counts. Here are our default settings.
| Aspect | Symbol | Angle | Default orb |
|---|---|---|---|
| Conjunction | ☌ | 0° | 8° |
| Opposition | ☍ | 180° | 8° |
| Trine | △ | 120° | 8° |
| Square | □ | 90° | 7° |
| Sextile | ⚹ | 60° | 6° |
| Quincunx | ⚻ | 150° | 3° |
The Sun and the Moon, the most structuring bodies, get a little extra margin (+2°). The day's transits, for their part, are calculated more tightly: a transit is a dated appointment, not a mood lasting several weeks. Here we follow the dominant usage in Western astrology — there is no universal standard.
3. Kairos
How Kairos writes your readings
Kairos is our pen. The principle is simple: the numbers first, the words after. Our calculations determine the exact positions of your sky, then a language model turns them into a narrative, in English, within a precise editorial frame (tone, length, registers to avoid).
On the privacy side, the frame is strict: the model only receives anonymized astrological data (date, time, place, positions). It knows neither your name, neither your email, neither nor the history of your readings.
Where Kairos accompanies you:
- Your horoscope — by day, by week, by month or by year. The wider the window, the more the text speaks of underlying trends: for a precise, dated question, aim for the day or the week.
- Compatibility — the analysis cross-references your two charts (synastry) to shed light on what binds you and what challenges you.
- The dialogue — a free conversation with Kairos, who has your chart in mind and follows the thread of the exchange. Save a conversation to pick it up later; otherwise, each session starts from a blank page.
4. Honesty
Our honesty
We would rather say it plainly: like any system that writes, Kairos can be imprecise on rare configurations. We talk about it openly on the Limits page. The calculations themselves remain exact: your technical sheet always lets you check.
Llmastro improves continuously, and every update is tested and reversible. Our goal: enrich the platform without ever breaking what already worked for you. When a change touches something fundamental — conventions, calculations, the tone of the readings — we explain it to you.
Finally, our readings draw on the corpus of modern Western astrology (Robert Hand, Liz Greene, Stephen Arroyo…). The full sources are on the Bibliography page.
Our choices, explained
Why Western tradition? Because it structures 90% of the available French-speaking sources, and because we'd rather do one system very well than five superficial ones.
Why Placidus houses? It's the modern standard, the most widely used in psychological astrology. Other systems (Equal, Whole-Sign) may be added if there's meaningful demand.
Why an AI? Not to replace a human astrologer. A session with a real person brings attention, personal context and nuance that a tool won't reproduce — if you want a consultation, go for it. Kairos answers a different need: being available at any hour, with a clear tone, without gratuitous technical jargon or catastrophism. It's experimental — the AI can be wrong, oversimplify, lack nuance. We improve it continuously.
